Questions

1. My favorite assignment was the Mural Project because it involved only our creativity because the only knowledge you gave us was to have a theme. I also enjoyed how it was a group project so we could practice with working well with others on something that is not necessarily thought of as a multiple person task. I liked how there was a theme because it made it easier to find fun and easier subjects.

2. What I would tell to an 8th grader is be prepared to think outside the box and push yourself. At the beginning of the year, you think it's pretty easy class but as the year progresses, you learn you have to push yourself and try new things. I would also mention the aspect of creativity because it plays a big role in this class. You can assume that though because photography is a very interpretive and personal thing to do.

3. My favorite photo was probably my magazine cover of my friend sitting in the beige, tall grass.

4. This was my favorite because I enjoyed the color contrast from neutrals from the November grass and trees and the bright pop of her shirt. I also liked the emotion shown in it because she is looking right at the camera and gives the appeal of relating to the subject in my opinion. I am a person of simplicity, so as stated in the title of the magazine, this photo is simple and not distracting so that helps draw the eye towards the subject more.

5. Some rules I used in this photo were balance, rule of thirds and depth of field. It is balanced because of she is centered within the photo, the grass creates a steady line down the whole photo and there are trees on both sides. It is depth of field because she sits in the foreground, the grass is in the middle and the trees are in the background. It is rule of thirds because the subject is in the bottom third of the photo.

6. My least favorite photo was from the EIght, Pose, Pause shoot of the photo of the pole and grass behind it.

7. It was my least favorite because it was not interesting what so ever. It was not interesting and did not have a subject so it was very boring. Also the coloring could have been a lot better but instead, all the colors are very muted. The reason I think it was so bad was because the topic (eight) was somewhat hard to meet while on campus.

8. Something that I could take into the real world is that sometimes you can't stick to the normal like everyone else and you must venture out and think outside the box in order to live your life to the fullest. This reflects from photography because you don't take pictures that you have seen 50 times, but you take a photo that is different and that is how you get the best photo you can. Also I have learned that sometimes you need to push yourself to do new things like I did when taking pictures even though I thought the photo wouldn't turn out good, but the photos would most likely turn out better than I thought.

HDR Photography

1. The things you change during an HDR photo is the exposure of the photo from dark to bright and mash them together into one big photo.

2. The equipment needed for an HDR is a camera (obviously), tripod, and an HDR photo-blending software.

3. A reason one would take an HDR is to have perfect lighting in every section of the photo because this cannot be obtained in one singular photo.

4. We can expect that everything will be better lit because everything in photo has now the best possible lighting. I think we would notice movement because with different settings comes different types of movement such as blurriness so that would not necessarily work in a HDR.
