Fall Final

1. She wrote, "It's a beautiful day and I can't see it."
2. This made me realize the impact that word choice has on human empathy. The same message worded differently will also change people's views on it.
3. You showed us this because word choice impacts newspaper because different it affects how people mold their perspective and views.
4. I can change my words by using a diction that contains more emotion and interest that will get to the readers and their views on the issue.

5. The Guardian covered the story in many ways including televised news, online stories, and live confrontations.
6. It was far from the same because it was from a rather innocent perspective and with limited perspectives on the story to justify the doings.
7. They interviewed a variety of people so that that many different aspects and perspectives could be discovered, making the investigation bigger and broader.
8. They investigated and covered how the wolf could've blown down the house down if he did, why the pigs did what they did and if it was justifiable in any way.
9. They discussed the wolf's background but not the pigs which could've provided more insight on why they thought it was justifiable.
10. No, they were rather objective and did not state any opinions for that was for the reader to decide.
11. Even though events at our school are not as intense and controversial, there are always obscure events, both negative and positive, happening every day or week.
12. These story ideas will not just come to us so it is our job to find them. In order to do this, we should be aware of our surroundings and always looking for something out the ordinary.

The most important thing I've learned this year is that everything is not just handed to you and you must work and strive for it. We had to ask around and be aware of our surroundings in order to find stories worthy of the newspaper. Once good ideas came around, even better stories came out of it. This taught me that if you work hard with determination, what comes after will be earned and rewarded. It serves as a cause and effect situation.
Next semester, I will strive to be more devoted to the program because I found myself not trying as hard as I wanted to with what I put in the paper because of things such as grades, band and time management. Considering that this is something I would want to professionally in the future, I will push myself to work harder next semester. Instead of viewing at is just an elective, I should view it as something that will help me improve
One issue I had this semester is the distance between editors and writers. All the writers assisted each other and all the editors helped each other also but when it came to the bonding of the two, it was separated and not as beneficial as I imagined it to be. When I need assistance, I feel uncomfortable asking for help from an editor and it feels almost like a burden.
