Final Student of the Month Story

In April, 2015, Bowie High School announced that Eric Calderon won the Student of the Month award.
Eric kept the image of a hard working, good student with amazing grades and good intentions. He also kept the mind set of high expectations and achieving the best of the best. The reason he was rewarded with this title was for his outstanding actions of rescuing lots of puppies and saving thirty people from a fire.
Freshman Eric Calderon’s reaction was very positive.
“I was in the middle of saving thirty more people so I had no reaction, but after it was cool,” said Eric Calderon.
Eric gave some advice that helped him keep pushing towards his goals even when faced with hardships.
“Do not consume pears on the daily because they are bad for you,” said Calderon.
People that Eric Calderon was close to started to act different.
“Everyone hates me because I always win Student of the Month.” said Calderon.
This was a big deal for the hard worker.
“Not every student gets it and only the best students like me get it so it’s a big deal,” said Calderon.
This award has opened up many exciting opportunities for Calderon.
“I’ll be able to become a professional fire fighter and I can save 30 more people now,” said Calderon.
Calderon explained his strong emotions about the award.
“Not at all do I think I deserve this award. I think I deserve a better award,” said Calderon.
The next Student of the Month will be announced in late May.
